SEW Energy builds with Customer on future of Africa

February 7, 2020

SEW Energy is fully engaged with the engineering phase of the FPSO project for a customer in Africa. The products that SEW will deliver are for a new to build FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading). This vessel of more than 400 meters in length will be located off the coast of Senegal and Mauritania and is the first production facility for one of the largest gas discoveries off the coast of West Africa.

SEW Energy delivers three stand-alone projects:

  • An Instrument Air Receiver – A vessel of 5m high and 3.5m in diameter for the air buffer facility on the FPSO.
  • A Diesel Oil Purifier Package – A skid to filter particles from diesel and then remove water from the diesel so that the diesel is brought to “Spec” for the consumers on board.
  • A Slop Polishing Package – A skid that collects all rain- and wash water and treats it with a centrifuge. All solid particles and oil are separated so that the clean water can be pumped overboard.

The Instrument Air Reciever is now in production and construction for the Diesel Oil Purifier Package will start soon. The unique (EPC) of these projects is that this is one of the first projects in which the project is carried out entirely within SEW Energy from start (engineering) to completion, albeit with the supply of techniques (Centrifuge and Filters / Coalescers) from strategic technology partners.
